Empowering Women through Inner Transformation and Outer Development
Reviving Vedic Wisdom for Resilient, Thriving Himalayan Communities

Our Mission
The Himalayan Devis Project mission is to revive Vedic Knowledge and empower Himalayan women through inner transformation, sustainable livelihoods, regenerative agriculture, leadership development, and community-based economic empowerment.
We integrate Transcendental Meditation (TM), the advanced TM-Sidhi program, and wellness education with skills development in organic farming, artisan livelihoods, food processing, cottage industries, and women-led local enterprise.
Our focus is on creating spaces for Vedic education, collective meditation, capacity-building, community leadership, and sustainable rural development across Himalayan villages.

Our 3 Pillars
1
Inner Development
Through the Transcendental Meditation (TM) and TM-Sidhi programs, women discover deep inner calm, mental clarity, and resilience - awakening the strength to lead and inspire their communities.
2
Sustainability
Hands-on training transforms local resources - Himalayan herbs, grains, and traditional crafts - into quality products that generate income, preserve heritage, and bring self-sufficiency to village women.
3
Community
Planned community centers will be living hubs for meditation, learning, skill development, health services, and cultural celebration - ensuring the project’s benefits grow and endure for generations.
Our Model
Lasting rural transformation happens from the inside out.
Through Transcendental Meditation and the TM-Sidhi program, women develop the inner stability, clarity, and confidence that make them effective leaders - in their households, enterprises, and communities.

Alongside this, we build practical economic capacity: sustainable livelihoods in artisan craft and food processing, regenerative agriculture, women-led cooperatives, and community health awareness - all rooted in local resources and Himalayan knowledge systems.

The result is a self-reinforcing model: inner development strengthens the motivation and confidence to build outer capacity, and outer success deepens the sense of purpose and dignity that sustains inner practice. Across 1,000+ villages in Uttarakhand, we have seen this cycle transform individual women into community leaders.

Our Vision
Flourishing communities led by confident women
We recognize that the women of the Himalayas are the natural anchors of culture, health, and family life. Yet economic instability, lack of access to training, and migration pressures have disrupted this balance. Many families have been forced to leave their ancestral lands in search of opportunity, and ancient knowledge systems - once lived and practiced -have slowly faded from daily life. Our vision is of flourishing Himalayan communities led by confident, skilled women who preserve cultural heritage, safeguard health, and cultivate prosperity for generations to come.

Women leading change
Each woman trained becomes a catalyst for community transformation - a changemaker at the heart of village life.
Through simple, scientifically validated practices of consciousness, they discover peace within—and begin to lead with clarity, resilience, and joy. At the same time, they grow crops, create products, and manage enterprises that generate income and dignity for themselves and their families.

This is our vision of holistic rural development - where ancient knowledge meets modern need, and women rise as changemakers at the heart of village life.

Supporting Key CSR Focus Areas

Gender Equality & Women Empowerment
The Himalayan Devis Project supports the inner and outer development of women in remote Himalayan villages. Through daily group meditation and Vedic knowledge, women cultivate emotional resilience, mental clarity, and self-confidence.

In parallel, they are trained to process and package local products—such as herbs, grains, and crafts—for sale, creating paths to financial independence and entrepreneurship. This holistic approach empowers women as leaders in their families and communities.

Rural Development Projects
The project includes the development of community centers designed to support 500–1000 women in strategic Himalayan regions. These centers are envisioned as hubs for collective meditation, skills training, women-led enterprise, product processing, health awareness activities, and community development initiatives.
By combining inner well-being programs with practical livelihood and leadership development, the centers aim to strengthen local economies, support social cohesion, reduce migration pressures, and create long-term systems for sustainable rural development in underserved Himalayan communities.

Promoting Health Care (including Preventive Care)
Our upcoming community centers are envisioned as wellness spaces that will include visits from trained Vaidyas (Ayurvedic doctors) and the provision of preventive healthcare and community wellness services.

These initiatives include Ayurvedic consultations, child and maternal health support, nutrition and food education, hygiene and healthy living awareness, and guidance on natural lifestyle practices based on the local foods, medicinal plants, agricultural traditions, and natural resources already available within Himalayan villages and their surrounding environments.

Protection of National Heritage, Arts & Culture
The project helps preserve India’s cultural heritage by revitalizing Vedic and Garhwali traditions through community-based cultural activities, intergenerational knowledge sharing, and traditional arts programs.

Following the Vedic Calendar, we organize Vedic ceremonies with trained Pandits, support Bhajan and cultural groups, and encourage the preservation of traditional crafts, rituals, music, storytelling, and local practices connected to Himalayan village life.

By preserving the stories, knowledge, and living traditions of the Garhwal region, we ensure that these cultural traditions can continue to be practiced, shared, and passed on to future generations.

Our reach
Already, hundreds of villages have been reached, with over 42,000 women participating in programs that enhance both wellbeing and livelihood. The ripple effect is visible in better health, stronger families, greater creativity and awakened aspirations.
